Hawk Swim And Dive Team Seventh In Class M Championships

Newtown High School’s boys’ swimming and diving team scored 277 points and placed seventh in the Class M State Championships; the swim events took place at Cornerstone Aquatics Center in West Hartford on March 17; the diving competition unfolded in Middletown on March 12. Results are as follows:

200 yard medley relay: 7. Oliver Clancy, Duncan Kolb, Johnny Barzetti, Finn Clancy, 1:44.49.

200 freestyle: 16. Alex Gadbut 21. 1:54.76; 21. Finn Clancy, 1:55.28.

200 individual medley: 18. Kolb, 2:13.91; 23. Brady Wennerholm, 2:26.56.

50 free: 17. Warren Ache, 23.47.

100 butterfly: 11. Leo Van Straten, 57.04; 16. Barzetti, 57.88; 19. Kyle Albrecht, 58.17.

100 free: 21. Finn Clancy, 52.80.

500 free: 12. Gadbut, 5:09.79; 22. Wennerholm, 5:26.49.

200 free relay: 9. Ache, Elias Kolb, Van Straten, Gadbut, 1:35.45.

100 backstroke: 12. Oliver Clancy, 58.89; 24. Elias Kolb, 1:04.36.

100 breaststroke: 11. Duncan Kolb, 1:04.41; 15. Van Straten, 1:06.87; 23. Sam Irving, 1:09.76.

400 free relay: 8. Gadbut, Albrecht, Barzetti, Finn Clancy, 3:30.80.

Diving: 9. Warren Ache, 257.85.
