Girls 6th
Westport PAL 16, Newtown 14 â Newtown was unable to hold off Westport in the final minutes of their tournament game. Danielle Shine, Kerry Scallon, and Amanda Crowell contributed the baskets and Mary Joe Rossi had 8 rebounds. Jenny Indelicato had 6 rebounds and Tess Murray had 1. Kristy VosWinkel, Jessi Principi and Hope McMorran all had multiple steals, and Amanda Cirella was solid on defense.
Intermediate Boys (5th)
Championship Game
Bulldogs 22, Twister 22 â Jason Ferrari dropped in 14 points. Eric Gibbons grabbed 6 rebounds in the win. Kyle McGrath sank a key bucket with two minutes to play and the Bulldogs didnât look back. Max Rucinski provided consistency and leadership during the teamâs run. Will Daltonâs and Jared Tananbaumâs speed, Adam Isrealâs passing skills, Joey Carrinoâs aggressive defense, and the rebounding prowess of Eric Gibbons and Carl Whippie helped the Bulldogs to the championship. David Matthews and Jaret Devellis combined for 15 points for Twister. Sawyer Conrad, Mark Dowling and Kevin Ovendorf all had key baskets. Alex Klang and Bobby Lydon all were tough down low and Liam Decker played great defense despite the comeback.
Intermediate Girls (5th & 6th)
Championship Game
Dragons, 35, Bluefish, 23 â Cassie Ekstrom drove in 27 points and Kate Fallon added 10 assists. Bethany Dubois grabbed 12 rebounds. Amelia Muratori, Jenny Edwards, Emily Piereiti, Liz Townsend and Sarah Greenwood all maneuvered the ball well for the Dragons. Micaela Newacki popped in 9 points and Emily Davis added 6 points for the Bluefish. Great defensive play on the floor was displayed by Lindsey Jagoe, Emily Maher, and Shana Evanko.

Championship Game
Knicks 34, Da Bears 16 â Kelley Gaston had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Carley Gehrman popped in 8 points. Rachel DiVanno had 6 steals and an outstanding defensive game. Lindsay Jossick dropped in 6 points and Caroline Kingsley added 2 points. Leading Da Bears were Katie Fossum with 4 steals and Ellyn Gordon with 7 rebounds.

Junior Boys
Nighthawks 67, Nets 61 Double Overtime â Mike Scharfenberg drove in 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Pat Sullivan scored 15 as Brandon Cooper had 4 3-point shots for 12 and Collin Morris added 6 with great dense. John Hull did a great job running the offense for both OT periods. Leading the offense were Austin Banadio with 23 points, and Mason West, Phil Reynolds, Mike Mossbarger, and Austin Puleri all dropped in 8 points each. Patrick Thornberg grabbed 11 rebounds and Nick Madden grabbed 10. Brendan Callery played tough defense.
Huskies 41, Bears 38 â Dom Fedak dropped in 12 points, while Scott Runkle grabbed 10 rebounds and added 8 points. Troy Larson had 6 assists. Andre Rusco led the Huskies defensively. Mike Greenwood popped in 12 points. The Bears played an aggressive offensive and defensive game.
Nets 42, Sonics 41 â Mike Mossbarger dropped in 12 points and Austin Puleri added 10 points. Patrick Thornberg grabbed 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Mason West led the Nets defensively. Sean Ross popped in 15 points. The Sonics moved the ball well offensively and defensively.

Boys Intermediate (6th grade)
Free Agents 28, Nighthawks 24 â Justin Adsitt dropped in 8 points and Chase Wurtz had 8 assists. Austin Babyak grabbed 6 steals for the Free Agents. Drew Tarantino popped in 11 points for the Nighthawks. Ty Runkle, Brenton Scott, and Dan Spillane led the team defensively.
Hawks 34, Huskies 26 â Virgil Procaccini dropped in 15 points. Doug Miller and Andrew Derrickson had exceptional games. Leading the Hawks defensively were Matt Lindell with 4 assists, Alex Romeo, and Nick Norberg with 16 rebounds. Angel Santos popped in 9 points, and 5 assists by Thomas Gleason. Leading the Huskies defensively was Dan Winn with 5 steals.
Boys Bantam
Big Red Machine 25, Huskies 13 â The BRM was led offensively by Nich Rohrbacher and Liam Palilla. Defensive leaders were Kevin Finnegan and Matt Ingerswen. The Huskies were led offensively by Matt Stewart and Connor Flint. Defensively they were led by Lucas Ladestro and Nate Augenbraun
Blue Devils 19, Eagles 18 â The Blue Devils were led offensively by Devin Luzetti and Matt Maturo. Defensively they were led by Kieran Lynch and Peter Winnans. The Eagles were led offensively by Declan Sullivan and Nick Randle. Defensively they were led by Bobby Katrinak and Holden Turk.
Nighthawks 25, Orangemen 17 â The Nighthawks were led offensively by Ethan Carpenter and Matt Davis. Defensively they were led by Timothy Prichett and Mason Melillo. The Orangemen were led offensively by Matt Elias and Dillon Palumbo. Defensively they were led by Gabe Barrett and Cole Terry.
