Longtime Sandy Hook Resident

Madeline Szernetz Keating, 94, a longtime resident of Sandy Hook, died March 14 in Candlewood Valley Health Center, New Milford. Mrs Keating was the wife of the late Francis P. Keating.

Mrs Keating was very active in the deaf community of Waterbury and Hartford.

She is survived by two daughters, Marge Fucs of New Milford and Carol Pierce of Marietta, Ga.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 1579 Straits Turnpike, Suite C, Middlebury CT 06762 will be gratefully appreciated.

Arrangements are in the care of the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
