The following dogs and cats are available for adoption from the Newtown pound, which is located at the end of Ethan Allen Road (behind the transfer station):
SAMMY is a 1 1/2 year old brindle neutered male terrier mix. Sammy is good with other dogs and will delight his new owners with his playful spirit and sweet personality. Sammy would be a nice companion on a car ride as he loves to keep his owners company in the car.
LEO, a 1 year old light colored, neutered shepherd mix, will make a delightful family and companion dog. Leo gets along well with other dogs and cats and is housebroken.
CLEOPATRA is an elegant 6-month-old domestic short hair black cat cat who is very friendly and likes to sit on laps.
SIMON is a 2-year-old grey/white domestic short hair neutered cat who is very friendly and has a happy clown-like personality which is sure to please.
DOLORES is a 7-year-old spayed, orange and white female cat who is quite friendly and ready to be loved by her new deserving owners.
COCO is an 8-month-old neutered, brown/white Cocker spaniel. Coco is sure to steal the heart of his new owners who will delight in his affectionate and gentle play. Coco is fine with other dogs and cats.
MIDNIGHT, a female lab mix, is ready and willing to please a couple or single person in a quiet home with loving companionship. She can also provide company for a cat.
CHARLOTTE, a 4-year-old female Hokkaido-terrier mix, has a sweet personality and is friendly with other dogs and people.
TIMMY is a 4-year-old mixed breed dog who has a sweet personality. He is not good with cats.

Canine Advocates of Newtown, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer group, raises funds to spay/neuter and provide shots against DHLPP and rabies for all of the Newtown Pound cats and dogs. CAN also provides a free training DVD and Beyond Obedience Dog Training offers one free individual training lesson to adopters.
