Edith Adler Kiner

Edith Adler Kiner, 87, of Margate, Fla., previously of Danbury, died March 16 at her home. She was the wife of the late Frederick Adler and the late Max Kiner. Mrs Kiner was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., May 8, 1920, daughter of Leo and Lena (Finkelstein) Slanger.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Adler and wife, Nada, of Newtown and Leonard Adler and wife, Cynthia, of East Northport, L.I., N.Y.; a daughter, Susan Adler of Coral Springs, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Leah, Fred, Barry, Matthew, and Corey.

A fashioner designer, Mrs Kiner was associated with the former Adler’s Lady Shop of Danbury prior to her retirement to Florida.

Funeral services took place March 20 in Congregation B’Nai Israel, Danbury, with Rabbi Nellie Altenburger officiating. Burial followed in the United Jewish Center Cemetery, Brookfield. A Period of Mourning will be observed in the home of Dennis and Nada Adler on Friday, March 21, from 2 to 5:30 pm, Saturday, March 22, Minyan at 8 pm, and Sunday, March 23, from 2 to 5:30 pm with Minyan at 5:30 pm.

Memorial contributions in Edith Adler Kiner’s name may be made to Congregation B’Nai Israel, 193 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury CT 06811.

Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
