Sydney Eddison Reception At The Library
Sydney Eddison Reception At The Library
The Garden Club of Newtown will host a reception and book signing with master gardener and author Sydney Eddison at C.H. Booth Library on Friday, April 4, at 7 pm.
Ms Eddison will begin the evening with a talk and slide presentation on âThe Rainbow Contained,â during which she will talk about container gardening with an eye for color. Mrs Eddison will discuss why trying color schemes in manageable, movable pots and containers is a great way to experiment with color. It saves time and trouble, and provides for lots of flexibility.
Participants will learn about color compatibility, choosing containers, beginning a color scheme, as well as some great suggestions for foliage plants. After the talk Mrs Eddison will have a book signing, followed by refreshments provided by the garden club.
Ms Eddison is the author of five books on gardening, the most recent being The Gardenerâs Palette. She also writes regularly for Fine Gardening and The Gardener. She has been featured in Martha Stewart Living, Country Living Gardener, and other magazines. Ms Eddison also reaches classes at New York Botanical Garden and Institute of Ecosystems Studies in Millbrook, N.Y. Her own acclaimed Connecticut garden has been featured on television and on local garden tours.
There is no charge to attend, but reservations are requested. The library, at 25 Main Street in Newtown, can be reached at 426-4533.
