Selectmen Approve Interim Policy
For Fairfield Hills
By Dottie Evans
Office of Community Development Director Elizabeth Stocker has noted a need for an interim policy regarding private entities interested in pursuing possible future projects on the Fairfield Hills campus.
Since no process for selection has yet been approved by the voters and since the town does not yet own the property, First Selectman Herb Rosenthal advised the adoption of the following interim policy at the selectmenâs regular Monday night meeting.
âThis is an excellent policy,â Mr Rosenthal said âbecause it puts all contracts and proposals on the record.â
The interim policy states âall private entities will be informed that the town has not approved a master plan, no specific activities have been approved, the process for selection of any private entity has not been established, and the town does not own the property.â
âAny entities contacting the town will be required to submit a letter to the First Selectman outlining the nature of their interest in the campus.
âAny requests for access to the buildings on the campus shall be coordinated with Tunxis Management to have a representative accompany the private entity.
âA file shall be created for each entity making contact with the town.â
