Observations On Five Letters

To the Editor:

I have made some observations on five letters that ran in the March 14 Newtown Bee concerning action against Saddam.

The first comes from Gordon Williams. You may want to consider that both bin Laden and Saddam consider the enemy of their enemy to be their friend. (At least until enemy #1 has been eliminated.) They both consider a truth that Hitler knew and spoke of. Something called “useful idiots.” That is how they see each other as well as the protesters. If you missed Frontline Monday night I suggest you go to PBS.org for the history of Iraq under Saddam.

Next is Brian Gibney. As much as you may hate President Bush you can’t truly believe that he would take our country to war “no matter” what. If you can get over your hatred long enough to do what I have suggested for Mr Williams, you may see the immediate threat more clearly.

The third letter, in this group of five, is [from] Jim Allen. There I see a man who is true to his core. That core is passive. You are informed on some level about events and circumstances concerning this issue. You just need to question your information to be sure every bit of it holds up to scrutiny. If not, go find the truth.

The fourth letter came from RP Gottmeier Colonial, USAR (retired). You sir, are deserving of our deepest gratitude. Thank You! May God Bless You.

The last letter I read was from Frank Viola. I thought Wanda EA Kokoszka’s letter was so far beyond ignorant that it could not be responded to. I was wrong. To you I say likewise!
