New Styler At Beaux Arts

WOODBURY — Anda Jasmine Styler, known for her acrylic paintings of Victorian homes and New England scenes, will debut works in oil at Beaux Arts Gallery from March 22 through April 27 in “Lasting Impressions.” A graduate of Parsons School of Design and a published artist, Ms Styler has shown previously at Beaux Arts, elsewhere in New England, and in various galleries and venues around the country.

A celebrated native Connecticut artist, Ms Styler has received various awards and recognition of her previous work, but her latest work is a departure. It is different not only in its medium but also in the subtlety of its depictions.

It has been said of Ms Styler’s work that it is a nostalgic reflection of what was. There is a new dimension in her current work. Her paintings represent not only what once was, but what should have been, or even what should now be. She creates scenes that are reminiscent of one’s perfect memory of a particular place. Such memories may not be an accurate portrayal of realism but are the visual impressions of what one wished existed.

A reception will be held Saturday, March 29, 4 to 6 pm. The gallery invites the public to view Ms Styler’s earlier work on display and to share an appreciation for her “Lasting Impressions” exhibition.

Beaux Arts, at 495 Main Street South, is open daily. Call 203-265-3939 or visit www.BeauxArtsGalleryOnline.com for details.
