NEW MILFORD – One day after finishing second at the Newtown/Al Taubert Indoor Soccer Tournament at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, the Newtown Rampage (U11) bounced back to capture first at the Northwest District Indoor Tournament at Canterbury School in New Milford.

The Rampage went 4-0-0 and earned four shutouts along the way.

In a 2-0 win over New Fairfield, Kate Bowen scored a goal and had an assist while Chelsea Fay scored a goal. Kristen Tanner and Laetitia de Brantes supplied offensive pressure as Taylor Smith and Ally Modzelewski anchored the defense. Katie Pessin registered the assist with four saves.

In a 6-0 win over Watertown, Fay scored three goals and assisted on two others to power the Rampage. Jordyn Good, Laura Bittman and Tanner also scored while Bittman had two assists and Good had one. Berenice Bryant was solid on defense.

In a 2-0 win over the Danbury Stars, Good and Bowen scored the goals as Sara Kelley and Fay registered the assists. Bryant, de Brantes, and Monica Warek had outstanding performances as Smith, Modzelewski and Pessin once again sparkled on defense.

In a 2-0 win over the Danbury Comets, Warek and Good scored the goals as Bittman and Fay registered the assists. Bryant, Smith, Modzelewski and Bowen were solid on defense while Pessin registered her fourth shutout.

In league action, the Rampage remained undefeated with a tough 5-3 win over the Trumbull Twisters. de Brantes scored two goals while Bowen, Tanner and Bittman scored one apiece. Pessin made 20 saves to preserve the win. Good, Bowen, Ellen Ritzinger and Caleigh Boyle played well for the Rampage, now 6-0.
