Janet Duffy scored 14 points to lead NH&F to a 48-45 win over Newtown Mobil in the Newtown Health & Fitness Women’s Basketball League.

Lisa Bigham contributed nine and Leslie Trudell pumped in eight points to lead NH&F. Joan Plavnicky, Mel Darrah, Josette Ritzinger and Sharon McCarthy combined for 17 points.  For Newtown Mobil, Karen Katrinak scored 14 points while Sandy Doski chipped in 10 and played excellent defense. Charlotte DuBail and Stacey Laaksonen combined for 13 points while Carrie Philips and Kathy Blewett played well.

 Karen Powell scored 26 points as Pizza Palace stomped Charter Communications, 59-41. Denise Croden added eight points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Mary Dent, Jackie Candee and Pia Heine each scored six points and combined for five rebounds, two steals, three assists and one blocked shot. Michelle Smith had seven points and five rebounds and played an excellent defensive game. For Charter, Colleen Gregory scored 25 points and grabbed five rebounds.  Laura Denis added 10 points and nine rebounds while  Stephanie Trolle, Laura Cook and Vicki Davis each scored two points.

Imagine This continued its winning streak by upending Walsh Logging 65-45. Shelby Neveriski scored 30 points and recorded eight rebounds, five steals and one assist. Kelly Fegler had 14 points and an excellent defensive game with seven shots and 13 rebounds. Suzanne Marsan scored 15 points and had three rebounds as Nancy Bowen and Amy Mangold played well. For Walsh, Ruth Rowe and Tracey Palella combined for 23 points, 19 rebounds, one blocked shot, two assists and a steal.  Joanne Duncanson led Walsh with 14 points and six rebounds while Megan LaCava added five points and four rebounds. Carol Hutzinger grabbed 10 rebounds.
