Church Sponsors Lecture On Overcoming Stress
SOUTHBURY â On Saturday, March 23, at 3 pm, a free public lecture will be presented at the Southbury Public Library, 561 Main Street South. Overcoming stress and its devastating effects will be the focus of the talk.
Margaret Campbell, CSB, will offer spiritual solutions to all types of stress, whether it stems from financial difficulty, health problems, anxiety over terrorism, tension between people, or conflict between nations. Her talk, entitled âA Spiritual Approach to Stress Free Livingâ will present practical spiritual solutions to seemingly insurmountable problems that cause stress â the feeling of powerlessness and fear as well as anger and frustration.
Ms Campbell will discuss how lives can be changed and stress eliminated through the application of Christian Science as set forth by Mary Baker Eddy in 1875 in her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, now published in 17 languages with sales topping ten million copies. While the book will not be for sale at the lecture, a number of free copies will be available courtesy of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Southbury.
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Southbury, is sponsoring Ms Campbellâs lecture. Ms Campbell is one of the 46 speakers worldwide who are on The Christian Science Board of Lectureship, an international bureau of professional speakers. She has addressed audiences in five countries, as well as 37 states of the United States and has spoken in a variety of venues including colleges and universities, high schools, bookstores, libraries, art and cultural museums, civic and community centers, interdenominational forums, churches, addiction and detention centers, prisons and more. Campbell travels from her home in Madison, N.J.
Asked what has meant the most to her during her ten years of talking to the public on spirituality and healing, she answered, âI love connecting with people â finding and valuing their spiritual core. I love sharing with others how spirituality, which includes their own innate goodness and worthiness, brings purpose and meaning to their lives in every conceivable way.â
Child care will be provided at the lecture. For information, call 264-1944.
