Chambers Plan Business After Hours

The Newtown Chamber of Commerce and the Monroe Chamber of Commerce will hold a “Business After Hours” event on Tuesday, March 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, at the Fireside Inn, 123 South Main Street.

The event is being sponsored by Peoples Bank branches of Newtown and Monroe.

“Since we have offices in each of those towns, this Business After Hours is a great opportunity to bring People’s Bank to the business community and to get to meet our business associates,” said Mary McNamara, Peoples Bank market manager for the Monroe, Newtown, and Southbury markets.

Victor Catalano, president of the Monroe Chamber, said the Business After Hour events are very beneficial.

“These joint meetings –– which we’ve had two or three times before –– have been well attended and well received,” he said. “From our point of view, we enjoy alternating between the two towns and meeting with our fellow chamber members from the neighboring community.”

Christina Maturi, president of the Newtown Chamber echoed that sentiment.

“Opportunities like this provide both towns’ chamber members a chance to communicate one on one and expand their business network,” she said.

The program is free to chamber members and $10 for nonmembers. To make a reservation call the Newtown Chamber of Commerce at 426-2695.
