A Solution ForOur Budget Woes
A Solution For
Our Budget Woes
To the Editor:
I have a good idea to solve the tax budget. Those of us who have lived in Newtown before it became suburbia ââ who remember open fields, peace and quiet, not much traffic ââ the tax budget always seemed appropriate to what we received as town residents. Now, we pay extra fees to use the public landfill and the public pools, why not have the residents with school children to pay a fee for public schools. It makes sense!
The town has allowed all of these homes to be built (even at the expense of wetlands) to attract families. (âGreat Schoolsâ added to every real estate advertisement.) Education is very important, but perhaps the parents should help pay for it and relieve some of the tax burden on the rest of us.
Need some relief in Sandy Hook.
