Elayne Julia (Duhan) Rush, 72, of 61 Poplar Drive, Southbury, died on March 13, at her home. She was the wife of James J. Rush.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Scott D. Cable of Newtown; three daughters, Sharon K. Beaudoin of Southbury, Roxanne Alfano of Waterbury, and Laurie Cooke of New Milford; three brothers, John Duhan of Springfield, Mass., Alvin Duhan of New Milford, and Michael Duhan of Florida; and two sisters, Maryanne Cable of Torrington and Arlene Onorato of Jewett City.
Elayne was born in Bridgeport, August 4, 1929, a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Soltis) Duhan. She moved to the New Milford area as a child and attended New Milford schools. In 1956, she returned to Bridgeport and resided there until 1976 when she moved to Southbury.
Two half-brothers, two half-sisters, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren also survive.
A collector of vintage memorabilia and jewelry, Elayne was an avid buyer and seller and was a great follower of estate sales, flea markets, tag sales, and vintage jewelry sales. She also maintained a booth at the Elephantâs Trunk in New Milford.
Funeral services took place on March 19 in the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, corner of Roberts and Eight Avenues, Danbury, with the Rev Luke Mihaly officiating.
Interment will take place in St Francis Xavier Cemetery, New Milford, in the spring.
The Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
