A Candle In The Window

To the Editor:

Just a thought. To honor all those who serve past and present –– the Samaritans, volunteers, the specialists, and particularly, the armed forces –– how about a candle in the window?

We are always grateful for their simple, unselfish gestures of charity, of rescue, or aid. We are especially indebted to those whose intended gift is freedom and justice for all.

Making a personal, quiet, constant expression of support, gratitude, and remembrance might be timely, unifying, and comforting to all, appreciated by all those we honor.
