Discusses Bee Editorials
To the Editor:
Unlike last week’s writer, I am enjoying Mr Taylor’s Bee editorial comments far more than I did any of their previous editors’. I like that for his chosen issue of the week, I get from him a relatively succinct overview of developments before I access the full coverage. I especially like that his purpose is more so to inform, than to persuade, since I believe that today’s news sources are far too overloaded with opinionated blather.
I also disagree with the assertion that Mr Taylor has never expressed an opinion. Specifically in relation to the issue at point, he has opined that the opposition to Castle Hill is unwise to take an all or nothing stance, that a less aggressive development would be more acceptable, and that the decision rightfully belonged in the hands of the Borough Zoning Board, rather than having been rejected in advance of their consideration by a prior governing body.
I don’t know Mr Taylor nor how The Bee might have verbally described his duties when hired, but I had read and enquired about the job listing, and nowhere did they say that the Editor must state his/her/their opinion on issues of the day.
