UPDATE (Wednesday, March 25, 2020): This post has been updated to reflect a change to pickup times, as announced by the senior center. It also clarifies that any elderly Newtown resident can participate in this lunch program.

CW Resources, the Senior Center meal site provider, will be providing prepackaged lunches for senior citizens beginning Tuesday, March 24.

Meals will be provided cold in containers that can be heated in your home microwave.

The schedule for the week of March 23 is:

*Meals can be ordered for Tuesday, March 24, by Monday, March 23. Tuesday curbside meal pick up is between 11 am and 12:30 pm, at the senior center, 8 Simpson Street.

*Meals for Wednesday and Thursday can also be ordered by Monday, March 23. Curbside pick up for those meals will be Wednesday, March 25, between 11 am and 12:30 pm, also at the senior center.

Meals are provided for a suggested donation of $3 per meal (cash only at meal pick up). If you are not registered for the congregate meal program at the Senior Center you can complete the registration form required by CW Resources, at the same time you pick up your meal.

The program is open to all elderly residents in town. Newtown Senior Center membership is not required.
