Mirror-To-Mirror

Police said they are seeking information on the identity of a person who was driving a “blue truck” that was involved in a motor vehicle accident near 49 Hanover Road at about 4:40 pm on March 3 and then left the scene of the crash.

Police said the driver of the blue truck crossed the road’s center line, resulting in the left exterior rear-view mirror on the blue truck colliding with the left exterior rear-view mirror on an approaching SUV. The SUV driver was not injured, police said.

Police ask any witnesses to the accident or anyone with knowledge of the blue truck’s driver to contact them at 203-426-5841.

Warrant Served

State police report that on the evening of March 9, they went to the residence of Kristopher Michael Crockett, 26, of 7 White Oak Farm Road and served a warrant against him, lodging a charge of second-degree failure to appear in court.

After processing, state police released him on $500 bail for a March 31 appearance in Stamford Superior Court.

The rearrest warrant stems from an original incident in November 2012 in which Crocket was charged with driving while under suspension.

Highway Crash

State police report that motorist Holly Clukey, 49, of Terryville was driving a 2008 Chevrolet HHR SUV westward on Interstate 84 about 100 feet west of the Rochambeau Bridge at about 9:45 am on March 10, when she lost control of the vehicle and it struck some guardcabling along the right road shoulder.

There were no injuries. State police said Clukey received an infraction for failure to drive in the established lane.

Main Street Accident

Police report a two-vehicle accident occurred near 45 Main Street about 5 pm on March 10.

The collision involved motorist Michael Monahan, 53, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2006 Audi sedan, and motorist Terry Hurd, 45, of Southbury, who was driving a 2000 Ford pickup truck, according to police.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Monahan a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.

Riverside Road Accident

At about 2:27 pm on March 12, motorist Zachary Aumueller, 16, of 24 Cricket Trail was driving a 2004 Nissan Maxima sedan eastward on Riverside Road, as Floyd Pellegrino, 47, of Ansonia was driving a commercial 1999 Ford truck westward there, police report.

The Nissan then turned left in attempting to enter Narragansett Trail, resulting in a collision with the oncoming Ford, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Aumueller a written warning for making a restricted turn.

Castle Meadow Crash

Police report that motorist Jesus Lemus-Ponce, 20, of Bridgeport was driving a 2000 Honda Civic sedan with two passengers onboard northward on Castle Meadow Road about 2:41 pm on March 12, when due to weather/road conditions the auto went off the road, struck a snowbank and then drove down embankment, landing in a stream.

Police said Lemus-Ponce received a minor injury, but refused medical attention. He received an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions, police said.

Arrest Warrant

Newtown police report that they traveled to the state police Troop L barracks on Litchfield on March 14 to press charges against Brian McGinnis, 32, of East Hartford for whom they held an arrest warrant.

Newtown police said they charged McGinnis with unlawful possession of personal identifying information and with two counts of sixth-degree larceny.

The charges stem from a police investigation into an incident that occurred last June 19 in Newtown.

After processing, police released McGinnis on $500 bail for a March 27 court appearance.

Three Violations

At about 2:22 pm on March 14, police stopped motorist Thomas LaClair, 32, of Danbury near the intersection of Berkshire Road and Lone Oak Meadow Road to investigate.

Police said they charged LaClair with speeding, driving while under suspension, and failure to carry an automotive insurance card. LaClair was released on a written promise to appear in court on April 1.

Three Vehicles

State police report a three-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 84 about 500 feet west of Exit 11 about 3:30 pm on March 14.

In heavy traffic, motorist Cynthia Tun, 56, of Watertown, who was driving a 2007 Toyota Prius, slowed to a stop, after which motorist Kevan Boisvert, 32, of Cheshire, who was driving a 2006 Mazda 6, slowed to a stop behind the Toyota, state police said.

Motorist Krystyna Panko, 53, of Middletown, N.Y., who was driving a 2007 Nissan Altima, then struck the rear end of the Mazda, pushing the Mazda into the rear end of the Toyota, state police said.

Boisvert and Tun both reported injuries, but refused medical attention, state police said.

Enforcement information was not available.

MV Charges

Police report that while using radar-based speed-sensing equipment on Riverside Road near its intersection with Sunny View Terrace about 4:30 pm on March 16, they stopped motorist Richard Gonneville, 51, of Bristol, who they found to be driving 36 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone.

After investigating, police charged Gonneville with traveling unreasonably fast and with driving with a suspended license.

Gonneville was released on $500 bail for an April 8 court appearance.

Warrant Executed

Police said this week they executed a warrant on March 17 against Ana Sweeney, 23, of Bethel, lodging nine criminal charges against her in connection with incidents that occurred last July in Newtown.

Police report they charged Sweeney with one count of fifth-degree larceny, and two counts each of sixth-degree larceny, credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, and receipt of goods obtained by illegal use of a credit card.

After processing, police released Sweeney on $5,000 bail for an April 1 court arraignment on the charges.

Chevy vs Chevy

A two-vehicle accident occurred near 28 Church Hill Road about 3:48 pm on March 17.

Police said that while traveling eastward, motorist Andrew Voegeli, 23, of Woodbury, who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck, struck the rear end of an eastbound 2011 Chevrolet Traverse SUV driven by Annie Norton, 46, of 3 Indian Hill Road.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Voegeli a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
