About 11:06 am March 16, motorist Joanne Caruso, 51, of 27 Berkshire Road, who was driving a 2006 Porsche Cayenne SUV westward near 151 Berkshire Road (Route 34), stopped for a work crew that was preparing to remove a deer carcass from the middle of the road, police said.

Westbound motorist Avanti Simmons, 22, of New Haven, who was driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla sedan, then drove into the rear end of the Porsche, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Simmons a written warning for following too closely.
