âWeâre pleased to be able to bring such an impressive collection of films to local community,â said Brookfield Art Commission chairman Mary Daniel. âAttendees will have an opportunity to see some of the best international short films, including winners from other prestigious film festivals such as the Manhattan Short Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival and more.â
The festival has been created to cultivate appreciation for independent filmmaking and to provide a local screening opportunity for area residents to view independent films. BBF curators have selected award-winning shorts from The Manhattan Short Film Festival, Kent Short Film Festival and Connecticut Film Festival.
The BFF short film selections will be showcased in screenings at 2 and 7:30 pm on April 4 at The Brookfield Theatre for the Performing Arts, behind Brookfield Public Library on Whisconier Road (Route 25) in Brookfield Center.
The suggested donation is $10 per person, payable at the door. As there will be limited seating, reservations are suggested; requests should be emailed to FilmFest@BrookfieldArtsCommission.org.
BFF will provide childcare services for parents attending the afternoon screenings, on a limited basis from noon until 4:45, also at the library. Send email to the above address for details and requests.
In addition to the screenings of shorts on Saturday, BFF will also offer digital and video production classes at Brookfield High School and Brookfield Craft Center on Sunday, April 5, from 1 to 5 pm.
The Brookfield Film Festival has been created to cultivate appreciation for various aspects of filmmaking and film genres, and to provide screening opportunities for local audiences to view unique and entertaining films from around the world.
