Kindness Rocks To 'Rock' Reed Art Show Night

, it promotes spreading kindness through messages on painted rocks.Reed art teacher Michelle Ginand said the effort is part of the Kindness Rocks Project. According to its website,

Ms Ginand and fellow Reed art teacher Angela Choniski are the advisors for the school's Rock Club, and student members have been working to prepare rocks for people to paint messages on at the art show since October.

"We probably have about 1,000 rocks painted all the colors of the rainbow ready to go for people to participate," said Ms Ginand this week.

For the art show, student works of art will be displayed throughout the school. The public is invited to view the art. Each Reed student will have at least one piece of art on display, according to Ms Ginand.

"We have some very talented students here at Reed, and we would love to share their talent with the community and the families that are here at Reed," Ms Ginand said on March 12.

The rocks that will be painted during the night will be put out on display along the Fairfield Hills walking trail in the spring, according to Ms Ginand.

Ms Ginand also said donations will be collected throughout the evening of the art show to create a tiled Ben's Bells mural to decorate a hallway at the school.

Community members attending the Thursday, March 22, 6:30 pm to 8 pm, Reed Intermediate School Art Show will have the opportunity to paint rocks like these for the Kindness Rock Project, according to art teacher Michelle Ginand.
