Shane Wurtz

Wurtz is a senior at Newtown High School and a player/coach in the Senior League basketball program which plays at Newtown Youth Academy. The teams are comprised of high schoolers ranging from freshmen to seniors and some of the final-year students also coach.

Best part about playing: “It’s fun and it’s competitive.”

Toughest aspect: Coaching.

When he’s not on the court: Wurtz plays golf and Wiffle Ball.

Team he roots for: Syracuse.

Dream job: Sports agent.

Favorite subject in school: Physics.

Food of choice: Cereal.

On the tube: The Office.
