How long have you lived in Newtown? We moved here in October of 2004, from Larchmont, N.Y., where I grew up.
What do you like to do in your free time? Iâm president of the Newtown Newcomers and Neighbors. We didnât know anyone when we were moving up here, and it was a great way to meet people. I like to go to the gym when I have time, and we like to travel as a family. We do go into the City a lot.
What is your favorite book? I do like fiction. I just read Belong To Me by Marisa de los Santos. And I may jump back to some classics and read a little Jane Austen.
Do you have a favorite travel destination? Before we had children, I went everywhere for my job. Iâve been to South Africa, Alaska, all over Europe, and the Caribbean. With the kids, we love Cape Cod. Weâve been going for a few years now with some other Newtown families. Iâve been going there since I was 5 years old. Itâs nice to bring my family there now. I love the tranquility of the Cape. Itâs laid back. Thereâs something for everyone in the family to do and enjoy. My mother lives in Las Vegas now, so I do try to get out there each summer, too.
What is the best thing about Newtown? The sense of community. It has been very welcoming to me and my family. The people are so friendly.
Do you have someone you admire? My mother. She was a tremendous role model, and has always been supportive and helpful.
Do you have a personal philosophy? Life is too short for regrets. âWouldâve, couldâve, shouldâveâ doesnât cut it at the end of the day. If you want to try something or do something, go for it.
Do you have a guilty pleasure? New York Style Cheesecake. The holidays are just an excuse to make it. Iâm a purist â no swirls or any of that other stuff, either.
