Month Of Caring Will Include A Local Blood Drive
Quota International of Candlewood Valley, Inc is sponsoring a blood drive for the American Red Cross Saturday, March 27, at Reed Intermediate School, 3 Trades Lane. The drive will run from 8 am to 12:45 pm.
The Candlewood Valley club is part of Quota International, a 90-year-old service organization with headquarters in Washington, D.C. The local club is participating in a worldwide event called Quota Cares Month, during which time clubs around the world will schedule projects and events to highlight Quotaâs vital service outreach and offer local residents a chance to learn about Quota and the issues it addresses.
The Candlewood Valley chapter of Quota International has served the greater Danbury area since 1978 by supporting those in need, such as Dorothy Day House of Danbury, Greater Danbury Womenâs Center, campership funds to Camp Isola Bella and Connecticut Burns Camp Foundation, providing comfort pillows to Praxair Cancer Center and other local hospitals for patients to use during recovery, American sign language books used in Danbury local schools, Ability Beyond Disability wish list program, and supporting the Teddy Bear Brigade by distributing Quota Care Bears to police and local ambulance services for children/adults in trauma situations.
