GARRISON, N.Y. â Boscobel House and Gardens will open for its new season on Saturday, March 29, offering house and gardens tours. A series of special events throughout the season has also been planned at the early Nineteenth Century Federal-style house museum, on 68 acres overlooking the Hudson River.
The annual Motherâs Day Tea will be on Saturday, May 10, at 1 pm, including an afternoon tour of Boscobel House with docents describing entertaining in early 1800s Hudson Valley houses. The house tour begins at 1 pm and the tea is at 2 pm. Reservations must be purchased by May 3.
A new musical event, the Sunset Soiree, will be on Friday, May 23, from 6 to 8 pm featuring jazz, fine wines, cheese, and hors dâoeuvres. Reservations are required by May 16.
On Saturday, June 7 at 7:30 am Boscobel presents its 14th annual Snapping Turtle Walk, an educational program presented by the staff of Constitution Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary. Visitors will see live snapping turtles from the marsh and learn about the history and habits of these living fossils. Admission is charged.
The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival will celebrate its 22nd season with performances at Boscobel of Cymbeline and Twelfth Night, from June 10 through August 31. For more information, www.hvshakespeare.org or 845-265-7858.
