A Tender Soul

Jon M. Petrovick, 27, of Brookfield, beloved son of Mary Carroll of Brookfield, and Michael Petrovick of Summerville, S.C., died at his home, March 15. He was born in Danbury, April 28, 1983, and was a 2008 graduate of the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Abbott Tech.

In addition to his parents, he will be sadly missed by his son, Luca Michael Vaast-Petrovick of Newtown; his maternal grandmother, Sophie “Nana” Carroll of Newtown; and his sister, Sasha Petrovick of Danbury; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mr Petrovick had an intense love for all living creatures. He was known to frequently go out of his way to help hurt or injured animals and touched the lives of many people with his deep, genuine friendships. He was a talented skateboarder, snowboarder, and surfer, and was also an avid reader who loved to study philosophy and history. His happiest moments in life were the times spent with his son.

The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, Friday, March 18, from 4 to 7 pm. A service will be held at 7:15 pm, directly following the calling hours. Cremation and interment will take place at the direction of the family.
