Coopersmith Joins NFA Board
The Newtown Forest Association (NFA)recently named Dr Aaron Coopersmith to its board of directors.
Dr Coopersmithâs first major initiative since joining the NFA Board has been the design and installation of a perimeter trail at the NFAâs Brunot Preserve.
A native of Newtown, Dr Coopersmith recently returned home to join the family chiropractic practice. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from Northeastern University in Boston. While an undergraduate, Dr Coopersmith earned âKey Holderâ status from the environmentally conscious NUHOC Club. He was also active in the university group Students for Environmental Action, which sought to bring biodiesel to university vehicles. Dr Coopersmith later attended the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, N.Y., where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
The Newtown Forest Association, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is the oldest private land trust in Connecticut. NFA is dedicated to accumulating and preserving open space and natural resources in Newtown for the benefit of the community and all nature lovers. Currently, more than 1,000 acres are preserved through NFA stewardship, thanks to the support of membership dues and generous donors.
