Watercolor Demo At Next SCAN Meeting
Gayle Asher of Rowayton will demonstrate in watercolor for The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) on Wednesday, March 23, at 1:30 pm. His subject will be a landscape.
Non-members are welcome, free of charge.
The program will be in the lower meeting room of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole) in Newtown.
Gayle Asher received his art training at the National Academy of Design in New York City and the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Fla.
He was a graphic designer and an art director in New York for more than 30 years. Since his retirement he has devoted his primary energies to fine art, in particular watercolor.
Mr Asher is an active member of Fairfield Watercolor Group, Connecticut Watercolor Society, Rowayton Arts Center, and Darien Arts Center, where he is a teacher and former board member. He has won numerous awards in the area including an award in the Annual Connecticut Watercolor Society Show, the âSpectrumâ show in New Caanan, and The Mavis Fenner Juried Show at Rowayton Arts Center.
His works are represented in the corporate collections of GTE, Pepsico and Bell South in Atlanta and in the homes of many private collectors.
