Spring Baseball Registrations

It is not too late to register for spring baseball. Newtown Babe Ruth is still accepting registrations for the spring season. Forms can be obtained at www.eteamz.com/newtownbaseball and mailed to P.O. Box 133, Newtown, 06470. The deadline to register without a late fee is March 25.

 

Sunday Slo-Pitch Softball

All teams, new and old, interested in playing in the Newtown Sunday Softball League for 2005 must contact Jim Dudeck at (203) 270-7877 or e-mail him at jdudek1846@sbcglobal.net.

 

Free Soccer Skills Clinics

The Newtown Soccer Club will be offering free skills training to registered players in the U8, U9 and U10 brackets of our in-house division. Brian Neumeyer, varsity coach for the boys’ soccer program at Newtown High School, will lead the program. The free training will be held from 4 to 5 pm on March 21 for boys. The NSC will also be offering a pre-travel training program (also to be run by Brian Neumeyer). This program is open to those players born August 1, 1995 through July 31, 1996. This program is also available to those players born August 1, 1994 through July 31, 1995 who may have tried out for travel this year and were not selected, or for those who may wish to try out for U11 in June of 2005. The cost of the program is $20 per player. Please make checks payable to Newtown Soccer Club and bring them to the first session. For both programs, all participants should bring a ball and water. Shin guards and indoor shoes or sneakers must be worn. No cleats will be permitted in the Hawley gym. The training will be held from 4 to 5 pm at Hawley School on Wednesday, March 23 for the boys. Namath/Dockery Football Camp

The annual Joe Namath/John Dockery Instructional Football Camp will be held July 10 through July 15 at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachussetts. The staff of professional instructors will include Justin McCareins, Kareem McKenzie, Erik Coleman, Victor Hobson, Chris Snee, Tim Carter, Jarvis Green and Dan Klecko. The camp is open to boys ages 8 to 18 and will feature programs on Injury Prevention & Care, Non-Contact, College Selection, Nutritional Guidance, Weight/Fitness, and Running. Blue Devils U18 Fastpitch

The Connecticut Blue Devils are seeking experienced, dedicated players for a competitive U18 fastpitch girls softball travel team. Season ends on July 29. Winter workouts are being held at a large, indoor facility. Call 203-775-3749 for further information.
