Robert Bates Doyle

Robert Bates Doyle of Farmington, husband of the late Mary (Freaney) Doyle, died March 14, at the Hebrew Home in West Hartford.

Born in Boston, Mass., February 13, 1916, son of the late George W. and Helen (Bates) Doyle, he was a graduate of Harvard University, Class of 1938. Prior to retiring in 1991, Mr Doyle was the senior vice president at the Hartford National Bank for many years.

He is survived by his son, Robert B. Doyle, Jr, and his wife, Lynda Sue, of Newtown; his daughter, Corinne D., and her husband, Dr Elliot Pollack, of Granby; six grandchildren, Robert Kevin Doyle, Todd Doyle and his wife, Amy, Scott P. McCrory and his wife, Tracy, Erin C. Tierney, John J. Tierney, and Andrew S. Tierney and his wife, Robyn; and three great-grandchildren, Robert B. Doyle, Sean M. Doyle, and Faith Plotkin.

He was predeceased by his son, Philip Kevin Doyle, and his daughter, Judith Anne Condon.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, March 19, at 11 am, in The Church of St Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mr Doyle’s name be made to the Hebrew Home and Hospital, 1 Abrahms Boulevard, West Hartford CT 06117.

Arrangements are being handled by The Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc.
