Hospital Waives TV Rental Fees

DANBURY — Effective this month, Danbury Hospital has eliminated rental fees for television service for all hospitalized patients. TV services include basic cable services, as well as a customized bulletin board for health information.

According to Peter K. Courtway, chief information officer, the hospital is continuously seeking ways to improve both customer service and satisfaction for patients and visitors to the hospital. The move to “free TV service” follows the hospital’s fall 2004 introduction of wireless Internet services in key areas of the facility to assist patients and visitors on the move, traveling between work locations, clinical appointments, and meetings.

“We are continually working to deliver the highest possible level of service to meet the needs of our patients and visitors. We see these services as added conveniences for those who are not feeling well, as well as for those needing access to information to improve their experience at Danbury Hospital,” Mr Courtway said.
