Child Internet Safety Program For Parents Planned
Gladys Pisani, the police departmentâs school resource officer at Newtown Middle School, will present an Internet safety awareness program at the middle school later this month.
The session, which is intended to help parents protect their children from hazards posed by Internet usage, is scheduled for 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Thursday, March 31, at the school at 11 Queen Street.
Informational materials for the program will be provided by I-Safe, a nonprofit Internet safety educational foundation, which promotes safe and responsible Internet experiences for children.
The session will inform parents how to recognize potentially hazardous Internet situations and how to respond appropriately.
Middle school computer teacher Jen Tarabulski is scheduled to participate in the Internet safety program.
Officer Pisani asks that parents who want to attend the Internet safety session to contact her via telephone at 270-4238.
