Carmelo Criscione

Carmelo Criscione, 77, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Frances (Vero) Criscione, died March 10 in his home.

Mr Criscione was born on September 5, 1927, in New York City, a son of the late Giovanni and Emanuela (Leggio) Criscione. He lived most of his life in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he raised his children. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will never leave his loved ones.

Carmelo is survived by his loving wife, Frances (Vero) Criscione of Trumbull; devoted children, Emanuela Dougherty and her husband, Stephen, of Sandy Hook, and John Anthony and his wife, Sharon, of Somerset, N.J.; he also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Marisa and Christopher Dougherty and Alexander and Brian Criscione.

He was skilled craftsman, a master carpenter and a family leader. Carmelo worked as a carpenter for AT&T until his retirement in 2001 when he and his wife moved to Trumbull.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on March 14 at St Stephen Church in Trumbull. Interment followed in St Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, L.I., N.Y.
