An Evening With

Bernie Siegel

St Rose of Lima Church will host An Evening With Bernie Siegel on Monday, April 4, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

Author of Love, Medicine & Miracles and Peace, Love & Healing, and Prescriptions for Living, Dr Siegel developed a unique approach to working with people facing chronic or catastrophic illness. He started ECaP (Exceptional Cancer Patients), a specific form of individual and group therapy utilizing patients’ dreams, drawings, and images. ECaP is based on “carefrontation,” a loving, safe, therapeutic confrontation that facilitates personal change and healing. This experience led Dr Siegel to a desire to make everyone aware of his or her own healing potential.

In his talks, Dr Siegel explores the role of hope, love, and spirituality in the healing process. He discusses the importance of resolving conflict and the need for unconditional love so that all energy can be directed towards healing.

A graduate of Cornell University Medical College, Dr Siegel trained at Yale New Haven Hospital and the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Now retired, he was a pediatric and general surgeon in New Haven.

The program is open to the community. Tickets are $15 each and are available only in advance.

Call Fran Gargano in the parish office at 426-1014 for tickets or send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with a check made payable to St Rose Church, to St Rose Church, 42 Church Hill Road, Newtown 06470.

Refreshments will be served in the parish hall following the talk.
