Richard “Dick” Hall, 84, died March 15, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his “Valentine,” Ellen. Mr Hall was a longtime resident of Newtown.

Mr Hall served with the US Marines during the Korean War.

He was passionate about books, and was a volunteer with the Friends of the Cyrenius H. Booth Library. 

Four children and their spouses, Dan Hall of Newtown, Carolyn and Dennis Simonson of Newtown, Barbara and Jeff Higgins of Florida, and Katie and Mike Charbonneau of Southbury; and eight grandchildren, Justin and Alex Higgins, Jessica, Rebecca, Jake, and Sarah Simonson, and Derek and Micayla Charbonneau survive Mr Hall. 

Calling hours will be between 11 am and 1 pm, Tuesday, March 18, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
