“Quilts by Lois & Friends,” an exhibition at C.H. Booth Library, had its formal opening reception on March 2.

That Sunday afternoon, library visitors joined Lois Mitchell and fellow quilters to view the colorful collection of beautiful handmade fabric works. The collection is on view in the meeting room of the library, 25 Main Street, until the end of this month.

Fellow quilters Sandy Barber and Alona Harman were among those to join Mitchell at the reception.

Mitchell has been sewing since she was a young girl and majored in Home Economics. During her quilting career she has created more than 100 quilts. She has been teaching quilting for 30 years.

The handmade quilts range from $300 to $1,000.

The library is open Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am-8 pm; Friday and Saturday, 9:30 am-5 pm; and Sunday, 12-5 pm. The exhibition can be viewed any time the library is open, provided the meeting room is not in use.
