How long have you been in business?

We've been doing this 11 years, working with several award-winning bridal industry websites offering custom products and now we just opened our first retail location. We parlayed our promotional business and formally split The Persnickety Bride from Persnickety Promotions in 2009 to give the bridal business its own identity. We were selling products to major retailers, and our promotions business was dealing with a lot of different companies. Basically it got too crowded to continue doing this as a home-based business, especially when we decided to take on gowns. We needed to bring in inventory, so our new location gives us a venue where we can meet with brides and showcase everything they might want for their wedding in the same location.

What services does your business offer?

We offer all types of stationary and customized products - things like custom family reunion T-shirts, milestone anniversary gifts, etched glassware, we have in-house laser engraving, we offer custom note paper, stamps, many other types of personal items, gifts for men, elegant costume jewelry, event handbags, a huge choice of other screen printed and embroidered products, and holiday cards to name just a few. We're not just a bridal salon - although it's our focus. And we do all kinds of event support from corporate affairs to anniversaries, sweet sixteen, graduation, Bar Mitzvahs, and retirement parties.

What would you most like Bee readers to know about your business?

If you want interesting, we are your one-stop for all the products you can imagine. We just had one bride getting married in Tuscany, and we're going to be designing a wall of color in her villa and coordinate that with a line of wrapping, decor, and paper products. We've done custom martini glasses for a TV celebrity - anything they come to us with, we can take care of it. We also try to keep it local. Our shop was designed by Newtown resident Agni Kyprianou of APK-Design, and three of our four staff members are Newtown residents as well.

Are you hosting any near-future promotions or events?

We are exclusively providing the Justin Alexander line of bridal gowns in Fairfield County, as well as his signature line. We also carry the Lillian West line. We will be having a trunk how March 16 to 18 from 9 am to 7 pm - brides can receive 10 percent off any gown purchase in the Lillian West line as well as all headpieces and veils we carry.
