A Successful Fundraiser <font size="3">By Robert S. Grossman, MD
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to thank Patty Prestera, a volunteer EMT and chair-man of the St. Patrick's Day Fundraiser event held this past Saturday at our ambulance facility at 6 Washington Square. What a great job Patty did in organizing this event!ÃÂ It was a success!ÃÂ And thank you to all the EMTs that volunteered their time to help make this a wonderful event. Everyone enjoyed the food and the entertainment!ÃÂ And, of course, we would be remiss if we did not thank all those organizations that donated.ÃÂ Patty has thanked those organizations by name in her letter.
Newtown Volunteer Ambulance is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with over 70 dedicated volun-teer members who are all state certified EMTs. We are funded by billing patients' insurance companies and donations from our annual fund drive, but these do not meet all of our current and anticipated needs. We are not a town, regional or state agency.ÃÂ ÃÂ Proceeds from this fundraiser will help support our all-volunteer EMTs who respond to all calls for emergency medical help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to our community.
Thank you for supporting this fantastic event and we hope to see you next year for our 2nd Annual St. Patrick's Day Dinner Fundraising Event!
Sincerely,
Robert S. Grossman, MD
