'Into The Woods," March Madness Extended At ETH Theatre
Due to technical issues, according to a spokesman from the Edmond Town Hall Board of Managers, the March 16-20 screenings of the Marion Cotillard film Two Days, One Night have been canceled.
“We’re just having trouble with this, so in place of that film we’re going to extend the very popular Into The Woods,” Andy Clure said Monday, March 16.
Walt Disney’s Into The Woods began a run at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, last Monday. The film, released on Christmas Day, takes many of the Brothers Grimm classic fairy tales and weaves them together in an enchanting musical fantasy that finds a poor childless baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt) cursed by an evil witch (Meryl Streep).
In addition to Corden, Blunt, and Streep, the film also stars Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Christine Baranski, Tracy Ullman, and Johnny Depp.
Into The Woods will be offered Monday through Wednesday evenings at 7 pm. There will also a 1 o’clock matinee Tuesday, March 17.
The film is rated PG, and has a running time of 2 hours, 5 minutes. Admission to ETH Theatre movies is $2.
In addition, a special March Madness event that had been announced by the ETH Board of Directors for Thursday, March 19, has been extended to also include Friday, March 20.
The public has been invited to watch early games in the annual NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament. Thursday’s sessions will run from noon until 5 pm and then from 7 pm until midnight.
Friday’s session, according to Mr Clure, will run from 3 pm to midnight.
Admission both days is free, and — as is standard policy for events at the Main Street theater — outside food and drinks will not be permitted. The building’s concession stand will be open, however.
