Moving Violations

About 11:24 am on March 11, police stopped motorist Jose Carvalheiro, 44, of Danbury to investigate near 53 Riverside Road.

Police charged Carvalheiro with driving with a suspended license and with failure to display a marker plate. Carvalheiro was released on $100 bail for a March 20 court appearance, police said.

DUI Warrant

After learning that police held an arrest warrant, Alex Lamere, 20, of Brookfield surrendered to police at the police station about 6 pm on March 13 and was charged with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right, police report.

The charges stem from an accident that occurred about 3:45 am last December 18 in which Lamere was driving a 1992 Buick sedan southward on Tower Road and then went through a stop sign at that street’s intersection with Obtuse Road, after which the auto struck a tree near 8 Obtuse Road.

Firefighters extricated Lamere from the crashed auto. Lamere and two passengers were then transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Following arrest processing on March 13, police released Lamere on $100 bail for a March 27 court appearance.

Sugar Street

Police report that driver Christopher Tessman, 32, of Torrington was driving a box truck eastward on Sugar Street, near Sugar Hill Road, at about 1:30 pm on March 7, when the box truck struck the exterior rear-view mirror of a parked tree-service truck, as well as some adjacent traffic cones.

There were no injuries. Tessman received an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions, police said.
