An Appeal From NUSAR
An Appeal From NUSAR
To the Editor:
Maybe youâve seen Newtown Underwater Search And Rescue in the Labor Day Parade. Maybe youâve seen NUSAR at the Newtown Lions Club Duck Race, the Health & Safety Fair, the Lake Lillinonah Cleanup or one of the other community events in which we participate each year. Maybe youâve even seen us training in Taunton Pond, Eichlerâs Cove, or Alberts Hill Cove. Hopefully, you never see us putting that training into action. But if you do, rest assured that weâre ready to respond to any water-based emergency.
Weâre the men and women of NUSAR, and for over 20 years weâve been providing emergency water rescue services and water safety instruction to Newtown and our neighboring communities. NUSAR team members are area residents whose talents and dedication are bolstered by year-round training and professional development. We are all volunteers, but we strive to reach the same levels of professionalism and performance as any water rescue team in the state. Weâre on call around the clock, year-round, ready to respond to any water-based emergency. Visit our website â www.nusar-ct.org â or find us on Facebook to learn more about our members and the quality services we provide.
Each year, we ask you to help us with the cost of training and equipping our dive team. This year, we are looking to upgrade our boat. Specifically, we have identified a new model, wider than our current boat, which will give us a safer, more stable work platform. We hope youâll help us take another step forward in our ability to serve you.
All donations are 100 percent tax-deductible and go directly to NUSAR. If youâve received our letter in the last few days, please use the enclosed return envelope or, if you prefer, use the PayPal button on our website. Either way, youâll be helping us continue our service to residents of Newtown and western Connecticut who use and enjoy all the water-recreation opportunities our area has to offer.
Thank you for your continued support.
