But the plan goes awry when the murderer gets murdered and Margot, Tonyâs wife, survives. Tony schemes once again to have his wife framed for the crime â but will he succeed?
Written by Frederick Knott, Dial M For Murder was first presented onstage at the Westminster Theatre, London, on June 19, 1952. It was later adapted for the 1954 silver screen version by the one and only Alfred Hitchcock and starred Ray Milland, Grace Kelly and Robert Cummings.
Directed by Gene Golaszewski of Brookfield, Dial M For Murder calls for the talents of four men and one woman. Auditions will take place at the theater, 18 Orchard Hill Road in Newtown, on Sunday and Monday, March 26-27, from 7:30 to 9 pm.
No appointment is necessary. All roles are open, and auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Character breakdowns are available online at www.newtownplayers.org/character-breakdown.
Rehearsals will begin at the end of March. The production run is Friday and Saturday evenings May 4 through the 26, with Sunday matinees on May 13 and 20. Town Players is a non-profit community theater.
