The Willie/Portera Trio will perform the live music for a California Fire Relief benefit dance being planned for Saturday, April 12, at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.

All are invited to the event, which will run from 7 to 10 pm, for live music and light refreshments.

Tickets are $30 each, with all proceeds to be donated to California Strong, a nonprofit founded in 2018 to support those affected by fires that year, which continues to provide grants to families to address immediate financial need directly following a disaster. Funds raised in April will be earmarked for the families affected by the LA fires earlier this year.

Tickets can be purchased online through newtownctchurch.org (click on “OnRealm” Offerings Donations Payments button, then change Fund denotation to California Strong). Tickets are also available at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street; and the office of The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road.
