Newtown High School placed fourth among 26 schools in the Nutmeg State Games High School Weight Lifting Competition, at New Britain High, on March 11.

Jack Miller earned first in the Bench Press and Power Clean competitions, and second in the Squat competition for his weight division. Miller lifted a combined weight of 975, which was the highest combined weight for his division.

Michael Garner took first in the Power Clean competition in his weight division, and lifted a combined weight of 930 which was third highest combined weight for his division.
