Nationally Acclaimed, Award-Winning Artist

Will Open Her Studio This Weekend

Sandy Hook artist Liz Alpert Fay, who was recently awarded an Artist Fellowship Grant from the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism, will open her studio doors to the public for the first time on Saturday, March 15, from 10 am until 4 pm. Unique hand-hooked rugs, art quilts, pillows, and other textiles created by Ms Alpert Fay will be on display and available for purchase.

Ms Alpert Fay will also be present to discuss her creative process and finished work.

The studio is at 10 Evergreen Road, off School House Hill Road and Walnut Tree Hill Road. Directional signs will be posted. Call 426-1845 for directions or additional information, and view examples of some of the artist’s work at LizAlpertFay.com.

Ms Alpert Fay, a textile artist recognized for innovation within her field, received the CCCT grant in January for her new work in sculpture. The grant was awarded to continue “current endeavors” and “realize artistic vision.” Much of the artist’s past work has been commissioned for private residences and can also be found in corporate and museum collections.
