Free Hearing Tests By VNA

The Newtown Visiting Nurse Association will present the next in a series of 90th anniversary events for Newtown residents. Free hearing tests will be offered at Newtown Senior Center, within the Multi-Purpose Building on Riverside Road in Sandy Hook, on Saturday, March 15. The tests will run from 9:30 to 11 am.

The tests are being offered to all residents, but reservations are requested; call 426-1035.

Adult hearing testing will be conducted by Carol Maksimow, the founder and director of Hearing Aid Specialists of Connecticut.

Dr Maksimow has been in practice for more than 4 years and is an industry consultant in hearing instrument electronics as well.

She is a graduate of Fairfield University, an audioprosthologist, a Connecticut licensed hearing instrument specialist, and board certified in hearing instrument sciences.

Children’s hearing will be tested by Veralyn Davee, MA, CCC-A. Dr Davee is a certified and licensed audiologist with a master’s degree. She has worked as an audiologist for 23 years, having started with 15 years in Michigan with an ear, nose, and throat practice and has been with Hearing Aids Specialists of Connecticut since 2000.

She also taught deaf and hearing impaired children for several years. Working also in the field of hearing aids, she has a great understanding of the impact of the impact of hearing loss on the quality of life to her work and patients today.
