CT Gay Men’s Chorus Will

Celebrate Spring With Song

The Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus will continue its tradition of celebrating Spring with a twist when it presents “It’s Raining Men!” this March and April in four locations around the state.

“It ain’t just Singin’ in the Rain,” said CGMC guest Music Director Greg McMahan. “We’re saluting the fabulous music of the 70s, music many of us grew up with, went to our first disco to hear, and listened to while we shopped for bellbottoms and platform shoes.”

The show contains beautiful and funny numbers, both disco and not. “No one can listen to an Abba song without wanting to move,” said Mr McMahan.

Concertgoers can look forward to a very well-known politician bringing back memories with “I’ve Never Been to Me,” as well as a romantic rendition of “Don’t Give Up on Us, Baby” by a suspected but never previously confirmed couple.

“We cover everyone from John Lennon to the Village People,” said Mr McMahan.

“It’s Raining Men!”  will be performed on Saturday, March 29, at 8 pm, at the Bushnell in Hartford; Sunday, March 30, at 4 pm, at the Ridgefield Playhouse; Saturday, April 5, at 8 pm, at Norwalk Concert Hall; and Saturday, April 19, at the Shubert Theater in New Haven.

Tickets, at $35 for preferred seating and $30 for regular seating, can be reserved by calling the CGMC Box Office at 1-800-644-2462 or online at CTgmc.org.
