The writer stated that there is a âdangerous situationâ being created at bus stops by parents and children who are âclogging the intersections.â
I would like to offer that perhaps it is the âcommutersâ who create the âdangerous situations.â Our bus stop is at an intersection. I always try to park far back from the stop sign. While waiting there I observe speeding cars, cars not coming to a full stop at the stop signs, and cars ignoring stopped buses picking up or dropping off children.
I take offense to the writerâs comment that the children must be âweak, out of shape, and easily influenced,â thus the reason they canât walk to the bus. I do not allow my children to walk to the bus because of the âcommutersâ traveling way above speed limit on my road. Perhaps people need to allow more time to get to work, so as not to put our children in danger at the bus stops.
