The Newtown Bridle Lands Association will be offering a $500 scholarship, in the memory of Linda B. Sousa, to a high school senior graduating in 2003. Ms Sousa passed away on December 24 after battling breast cancer.
The Newtown Bridle Lands Association will be offering a $500 scholarship, in the memory of Linda B. Sousa, to a high school senior graduating in 2003. Ms Sousa passed away on December 24 after battling breast cancer.
The scholarship will be open to a current resident of Newtown, or a student who has a parent or guardian in the membership of the NBLA. As the NBLA is dedicated to horses and preserving open spaces, the scholarship will be available to any student who is accepted to a post-high school program leading to a degree in Equine Science, Veterinary Science, or the Environmental Sciences which may include agriculture, animal husbandry, ecological studies, or forestry.

To help finance this scholarship, the NBLA will host a country dance and supper featuring Out On A Whim and Friends on Saturday, march 29, from 6 to 10:30 pm, at the Edmond Town Hall. No dancing experience required â only soft-soled shoes!
